Trying to get Pregnant
When trying to get pregnant it is essential that you be aware and observe your ovulation time. If you do not know when you are about to ovulate then the whole process of getting pregnant will be a complete hit or miss affair.
Getting Pregnant
Trying to get pregnant is addressed in the article below which covers tips on how getting pregnant by knowing exactly when your own ovulation cycle.
How long does it take to get pregnant?
Many people write to me convinced that there is something wrong with them because they can’t get pregnant… when I ask them how long they’ve been trying for they tell me 3 or 4 months. It seems that so many people, probably due to what we have been taught as teenagers are so convinced that as soon as they have unprotected sex they will become pregnant that when they have unprotected sex for 3 months continually and don’t become pregnant then they begin to wonder if there s something wrong with them or if they have a fertility problem.
To be trying to get pregnant for up to 18 months before successfully conceiving is not out of the ordinary with many couples not becoming pregnant until after 12 months of trying.
It actually sounds a lot when you think you’ve been trying to get pregnant for 3 months for example. In reality, with the ‘window for getting pregnant being just a few days in most women then in 3 months then there might not have been more than a total of 6 -9 days in which conception might occur.
It is said that if a couple makes love every day then this will weaken the strength of the man’s sperm due to a lowering of the sperm count. This will reduce the possibility of getting pregnant by at least 50% which will cut down those 6-9 days to 3 or 4.
If the couple abstains for long periods this can also reduce the potency of the sperm as the sperm inside the testicles becomes old it gets weak and stale.
The best frequency for lovemaking around and during the period of ovulation is once every 2 days or so.
To know when the woman is about to ovulate is of utmost importance too. Without this knowledge then the whole process of getting pregnant will become a very ‘hit or miss’ affair. Remember that once ovulation has occurred then there is only about 12 hours or so in which to conceive before the ovum dries up and becomes unable to be fertilized.
Sperm on the other hand can live up to 3 days inside the female body and can be there waiting for ovulation to occur. If the couple knows when the woman is about to ovulate then it will help to adopt a regular lovemaking schedule (every 2 days) during this time.

How to get pregnant and fertility tips for women and men is a straight forward and down to earth guide to help you in getting pregnant faster.
Fertility tips for men and women
Follow the advice laid out below by Heather Barnard and you will discover just how easy it can be to get pregnant.
Become Pregnant - Male and Female Fertility Advice
A recent survey by the 'American Society for Reproductive Medicine' shows that one in ten of the reproductive population of the US is affected in one way or another by infertility and therefore find it difficult in knowing when the best time to get pregnant is.
This can affect either the man or the woman with about 40% of cases being due to male infertility and 60% due to female infertility.
A large percentage of these so-called 'infertile' couples can overcome the problem by making simple health and lifestyle changes as outlined here below.
MALE:
Try to dispense with any unnecessary medications as some medicines have been the cause of fertility issues. Please consult your doctor first. Especially be aware of anabolic steroids, anti-diarrhea medication, anti-fungal medicine (ketoconazole) and antibiotics such as nitrofurans or macrolides.
Short periods of sexual abstinence may increase the potency and volume of sperm. Prolonged periods of sexual abstinence however (i.e. more 6 days) can leave old and less mobile sperm.
Eliminate or reduce your daily caffeine consumption. Try drinking decaffeinated as too much caffeine can seriously affect male fertility.
Smoking tobacco or marijuana can slow down the sperm production and also slow down the speed at which the sperm can travel giving a significantly lower sperm count with generally low quality sperm. These effects may take many moths to reverse once smoking is ceased.
Try to keep your testicles cool and as heat to that area may be detrimental. Boxer shorts will help; abstain from hot tubs / saunas, hot baths etc. Take cool showers, avoid cycling and other excessive sports.
Having a balanced intake of vitamins can help too. Taking a multi-vitamin supplement daily will be very helpful. Healthy sperm are produced when using vitamins B12, C, and E, Argentine and Zinc, Selenium and Coenzyme.
Folic acid, as used by many women prior to conception may also prove very successful in the production of healthy sperm. Consult with your doctor about taking vitamins.
FEMALE:
Get to know your body and your cycles. Chart your Basal Body Temperature (BBT) over the period oaf a few months and get to know exactly when you are about to ovulate. You can also find out ovulation time by buying an ovulation prediction kit which will alert you on to two days before ovulation actually occurs.
As with the male, the taking of pre-conception vitamins can be very important to your health, your chances of conception and to the health of your unborn child. Vitamins to take are;
Vitamin C (daily), Folate (a month before conception) and of course folic acid.
MALE AND FEMALE
Avoid pesticides, radiation, lead, heavy metals and other environmental hazards.
Take regular exercise
Avoid alcohol, tobacco and recreational drugs (especially marijuana and cocaine)
During the fertile period only make love once every 48 hours or so. This will give the male sperm a chance to become stronger. The ovum will remain capable of fertilization for a period of about 5 days. Sperm will live for 2 or 3 days inside the female body whereas the woman's egg will be fertile for less than 24 hours.
Do not smoke. It WILL have a detrimental effect on your unborn child.
Eat healthily and well - natural whole foods where possible. Avoid processed foods.
Taking some of the above advice will greatly improve on your chances of conception.

When to get pregnant
When to get pregnant depends on the cycle of the woman. The article below offers several tips to help you find the best time of the month to get pregnant and to get to know your own body rhythm to predict the exact ovulation time so you can discover the best time to get pregnant.
Luteal phase
The Luteal Phase is the period between ovulation and the first day of the next cycle. Normally 14 days in most women
When is the best time to get pregnant?
The period of time between ovulation and the first day of the menstrual period is known as the 'Luteal Phase' sometimes referred to as the 'Post Ovulation Time'. The length of the luteal phase is fixed and in the majority of women lasts for exactly 14 days. This number can vary with some women having a luteal phase of 15 or 16 days and others as short as 12 days, but, whatever the length of your luteal phase, it is always constant being the same number of days long, month in - month out... even if you have irregular periods. If you do have an irregular cycle then the 'irregular' part of the cycle is the first part up to ovulation. Once ovulation has occurred then your period will start exactly 14 days later (or however many days long your luteal phase is) unless of course fertilization has occurred.
What is the optimum moment for fertilization to occur?
Obviously this should be around the time of ovulation. The ovum will survive for a period of 12 hours or so in which it is capable of being fertilized. Ideally, fresh sperm should be inside the female body prior to ovulation so when this occurs fertilization can happen. The sperm can last for 3 or more days inside the woman's body, considerably more time than the fertile window of maybe 12 hours that the ovum has.
The secret to getting pregnant fast is to know your body. To learn what phase you are in and to predict as closely as possible when you will ovulate so that intercourse may be performed as close to this time as possible. Don't forget that lovemaking too often can reduce the virility of sperm and reduce the sperm count.
For women who have regular cycles, the time of ovulation can be quite accurately predicted.
presuming that your 'luteal phase' is 14 days long (the most normal) then ovulation will occur sometime between days 11 and 14 of the cycle with day 1 being the first day of bleeding of your period.
If you have irregular periods then you can take a note of your cycles of the past few months and try to estimate an average length of period. You can then use the method above, it will be a little less accurate but will still give you a good idea as to when you should be ovulating. If lovemaking is undertaken once every 2 days or so then there should be sperm present inside you ready for when you ovulate.
A valuable method for getting to know your cycle and observing your body is by using the BBT method (Basal Body Temperature). To do this you need to use a special BBT thermometer which can be easily obtained. The thermometer is calibrated to show fractions of degrees. The method consists of taking your vaginal temperature every morning upon waking. The temperature is plotted daily on a graph. A notable rise in temperature occurs at the time of ovulation. By using this method you will be able to know exactly when you are ovulating and therefore be aware of the tell tale signs (such as subtle aches and sensations in the abdominal region) that accompany ovulation. You will also be able to calculate the exact length of your 'luteal phase' and note how it does not vary from month to month even if your periods are extremely irregular,
You can also confirm ovulation is occurring by observing the texture of your vaginal mucus. This generally has a thick texture which when seen under a microscope appears to consist of a mesh of fibers. As the hormones in your body change at the time of ovulation, so too does the texture of the mucus. It becomes clearer and thinner. When this is viewed under the microscope it appears that all of the fibers are parallel. This actually aids the sperm along their way to the ovum by means of capillary action, sucking up the sperm thus facilitating fertilization. The mucus remains like this for a period of two or three days - The ideal time for fertilization.
If you can combine all of the ideas noted here then it should help you to get to know your body and the rhythm of your monthly cycle facilitating the prediction of your exact ovulation time.

Get pregnant
How to get pregnant is affected very much by our health. If we can make ourselves healthy before we get pregnant it will not only increase our chances of getting pregnant but it will also increase the chances of our baby being healthy.
How to get pregnant
Getting pregnant will come easy as you follow the advice set out in our article below by Margaret Paul. She wisely advises to take care of our health first and foremost not only to help our baby but to increase our chances of conceiving - Get pregnant by following this advice
What you need to know before you get pregnant
We all think about what our families will be like when we are young girls, and hope for healthy children. Though the things you don’t know about pregnancy can hinder the health
of your baby even cause miscarriage. So you should learn everything you can about conceiving and protecting your child in the womb and before. Since the children are growing inside of us the things we consume and the way we take care of ourselves will affect the child growing inside.
Ensuring your safety as well as theirs is important. Preparation to conceive should take place at least 3-4 months in advanced if not longer. Unhealthy habits can endanger the child upon conception. The first trimester is the most vital since the babies vital organs are forming during this time. Things like the brain and your baby’s heart are developing and can be severely damaged if you do not take care of them.
Consuming alcoholic beverages, drugs not just street drugs but some prescription and over the counter as well, and not getting enough vitamins and minerals daily can affect the way your baby comes out or grows while inside your womb. Taking these things before and during pregnancy can cause your child to come out too small, addicted to drugs, if you drink while pregnant your child could have fetal alcohol syndrome and can also lead to SID or Sudden Infant Death syndrome. There is no known cause of SIDS however it has been linked to smoking.
Eating properly is also a must. When you are pregnant the baby will take its nourishment from you if you do not replace these things you can suffer as well as the baby. Eating foods rich in vitamins, and minerals as well as protein will give you a good fighting chance. Some foods with extra fats is ok but it is recommended that you cut down on things with caffeine, and other harmful ingredients for the protection of the baby.
Consulting with your doctor when planning to get pregnant is best they will help you talk with a nurtionalist before you conceive to ensure that you are eating properly before and after conception. It is also important to lower your stress level so making sure that you have adequate finances and have talked about what employment options you have ahead of time! Learning all you can before conception will ensure that you and your baby are healthy!

Why cant I get pregnant
It is surprising the amount of people who smoke who cant get pregnant and still ask why cant I get pregnant.
Can I get pregnant
Probably you can but if you smoke then apart from lowering your chances of conceiving you are also putting your unborn child (if you do conceive) in GRAVE danger. Cant get pregnant? Why cant I get pregnant.. the article below should clear up a few points.
Smoking during Pregnancy
We all know that smoking during pregnancy is not a good idea but what exactly happens if we do? 'Surely an occasional cigarette won't hurt'... Or will it?
When you smoke it increases the levels of the poisons carbon monoxide and nicotine in your bloodstream and hence that of your baby too. The effect of these chemicals constricts the blood vessels and restricts the flow of oxygen to the placenta. The placenta is what nourishes the baby so with less nutrients and oxygen reaching the baby, growth will be drastically affected, resulting in a smaller and weaker child. In many cases smoking during pregnancy can even result in premature birth, miscarriage or even fetal brain damage.
Smoking whilst pregnant may also bring about high blood pressure in the baby, learning difficulties, developmental difficulties, mental retardation, and respiratory disorders such as asthma.
The problems of being a smoker during pregnancy do not cease at childbirth. Your milk supply will be reduced and therefore the baby will be without its natural nourishment. What milk it can get from breast feeding will contain nicotine and will be poisoning the baby more and causing cramps, colic, diarrhea and nausea. The baby will have the same need for nicotine you have only it will not be able to satisfy its addiction as you are. The baby will have to pass through what you were unable to do whilst pregnant.
If you are not strong enough to stop smoking whilst you are pregnant, (that includes any occasional cigarettes) then after having read this you are knowingly going to make your defenseless child pass through the withdrawal symptoms that you were unable to pass through. That in my opinion makes you an evil person who doesn't deserve to have a child.
Everyone wants a big strong baby. If you smoke whilst pregnant you will not only have a weak and small baby but it will grow up weak and small with probable illness and weakness throughout its childhood and into its adult life. Is it really fair that you should bring this upon another person?... Just because you don't have the self control to stop putting cigarettes in your mouth... just because you do not have the strength to say no to just one cigarette even when you know what it will do to your child.
If you are thinking of becoming pregnant then please make sure that you get this very clear and that you give up for life well BEFORE getting pregnant. If you find yourself pregnant and are still a 'smoker' then you MUST stop being one right now or you will be committing the greatest crime to another human being that is possible.

Position to get pregnant
The best position to get pregnant is one that enables a deep penetration such as the missionary position or doggy style. Once finished it will help if the woman lies with her legs elevated for 20 minutes or so as not to let the sperm drip out.
Best position to get pregnant
There is no real 'best position' to get pregnant. If when making love at around the time of ovulation, penetration is achieved and ejaculation occurs then there is a good chance of getting pregnant whatever the position you are adopting.
When ejaculation occurs, the sperm are shot up inside the vagina right up to the mouth of the cervix and even higher, the sperm from there will start to move upwards aided by vaginal mucus towards the moth of the fallopian tubes where most fertilization actually takes place.
The only reason for thinking that certain positions are better than others is gravity.
It is said that you cannot become pregnant if you make love standing up. This is NOT true.
As I just stated, the sperm is virtually injected into place. Admittedly, whilst standing, a lot of semen will naturally flow down and flood out of the vagina... but not all of it.
It is also said that if a woman lies with her legs up for 15 minutes after making love that the chances of conception will be increased too... once again, not necessarily true.
Some women have asked me if there is something wrong because when they get up after lovemaking, even if it is the next morning, they have a flood of sperm flow out of the vagina. This is normal, but rest assured that there is still a significant amount of sperm that has already traveled right up inside towards the opening of the fallopian tubes.
I will repeat that all positions are good for getting pregnant but there are VERY slightly higher chances if you take heed of the following;
In general, the best positions for getting pregnant are those where gravity won't interfere such as the missionary position or from behind... not standing up nor with the woman on top. Also, after lovemaking if you want you might try putting a cushion under your hips so as to avoid the flow of sperm out from the vagina.

I will repeat that all positions are good for getting pregnant but there are VERY slightly higher chances if you take heed of the following;
In general, the best positions for getting pregnant are those where gravity won't interfere such as the missionary position or from behind... not standing up nor with the woman on top. Also, after lovemaking if you want you might try putting a cushion under your hips so as to avoid the flow of sperm out from the vagina.
